The Fund supported a project aimed at encouraging children and young people in out-of-home care at the Krāslava Children’s Social Rehabilitation Centre “Mūsmājas” to take part in physical activities and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

During the project, 16 children and young people participated in a wide range of sports and recreational activities, including tennis, swimming, canoeing, skiing, therapeutic exercise, and gym training. These activities not only improved their physical fitness but also strengthened their self-confidence, emotional resilience, and teamwork skills.

An important part of the project was giving children the opportunity to explore different sports and spend time in a supportive environment alongside coaches and other adults who encouraged them to overcome their fears, believe in themselves, and take pride in their achievements.

The project also strengthened the children’s sense of belonging to their local community by involving coaches and other partners from the Krāslava region. The skills, experience, and interest in sports gained through the project will serve as a valuable foundation for their future development.

By supporting initiatives like this, the Fund helps children and young people develop healthy habits, build self-confidence, and take confident steps towards an independent future.
