Thanks to the enthusiasm of Terēza Stenclava, Latvia hosted, for the first time, one of the world’s largest tournaments – the BNP Paribas World Team Cup European Qualification 2024. Latvia had never before welcomed such a large number of participants in wheelchairs. This event was something entirely new and unprecedented. The fund provided support for the tournament with a donation of 7,500 EUR.
This tournament is equivalent to the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup and has been organized since 1985. Latvia is the first Baltic country to take on hosting this prestigious tournament since 2012. We are proud of the athletes’ achievements, and despite the many challenges faced by the tournament organizers, we wish them continued strength and success in future tournaments!
