When Polina was born, she was diagnosed with severe brain damage and seizures that could not be controlled with medication. In her first days of life, doctors decided to place her in a medically induced coma, which helped stop the seizures. For a long time, Polina’s condition remained stable, but a recent EEG revealed changes in her brain activity, and she experienced seizures again, likely triggered by hormonal changes related to adolescence.

The planned intensive rehabilitation course in Turkey was canceled, but with the help of the Foundation, Polina had the opportunity to undergo a two-week rehabilitation course in Tallinn, Estonia. During this course, psychologists, speech therapists, and special education teachers worked with her, and innovative methods, including a large cradle, were used.

The Foundation’s support amounted to EUR 2,300.
