To mark International Cat Day, the LNK Charity Fund team visited the Jelgava animal shelter “Cat House” to meet its four-legged residents and support the shelter’s important work.

“Every cat has a unique life story and personality, which are truly valued here with genuine respect and love. They receive the best possible care and affection, and this would not be possible without the selfless work of the shelter’s staff. These are people with big hearts – they devote their time, patience, and knowledge every day to ensure that each animal feels safe, cared for, and loved,” says LNK Charity Fund board member Aleksandra Strode.

Currently, more than 50 cats have found a home at “Cat House,” and each of them eagerly awaits the day when they will find their true home and loving owners. Among the residents are also kittens – boys and girls, spotted, striped, and solid-colored. They are lively, playful, and waiting for their new families.

On this special day, the LNK Charity Fund prepared both practical and heartfelt gifts for the residents of “Cat House”: high-quality food for the big and small purr-makers, as well as special nutrition for cats with health issues. This support helps the shelter continue caring for the health, safety, and well-being of its four-legged friends.

The small animal shelter “Cat House” was opened in 2023 with the support of the Fund on the premises of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. It offers modern and comfortable facilities for housing cats, providing a homely and safe environment. Here, each resident receives individual care, attention, and love.
